I was chosen to be a tester for Benton's Papaya-D suncream. I got this last week and have been using it everyday since. Benton is one of my favourite skincare brands at the moment because they use only the best ingredients that are inspired by nature. This suncream is the second Benton product that I've tried and I'm already hooked on the brand.
The suncream comes in a simple white box with the name of the product and a picture of a papaya on it. The bottle that contains the product has a similar design that on the box. I really like the minimal look of the packaging and the reflective, silver lid was a huge thumbs up in terms of the aesthetics (props to the Benton team).
This Papaya-D suncream is Benton's first ever suncream that is made up of both physical and chemical sunscreen agents to ensure that you get the most out of one product. It contains 55% Carica Papaya fruit water and Papaya seed oil (hence the name of the cream). Papaya also known as "the fruit of the angels" was given this name not only for it's remarkable taste but also because of the rich vitamins that it contains. The components of the papaya fruit can have the following skincare benefits:
- makes skin supple and smooth
- helps skin retain moisture
- effective in pore care
- controls sebum and dead skin cells

The cream comes in a tube which makes it very easy to dispense the right amount of product and also makes it very travel-friendly as you can just throw it in your bag for easy reapplication throughout the day. The cream is white just like many other suncreams out there. It does leave a slight white cast when you first apply it your face but after rubbing it in well, the product will fully absorb into the skin leaving no white cast behind. The suncream feels very light on my skin but unfortunately I have very oily skin (which gets even worse in the summer). This cream wasn't the best for my skin type as I felt that it made my face oilier than usual. However, if you have normal to dry skin, I'm sure that this will be great for you as it does have a nice, dewy finish.
In terms of sun protection, I would prefer a suncream with a higher SPF as I am more tan and also have some PIH that I would like to keep protected from the sun. I would probably go back to my COSRX Aloe suncream for the time being and save this product for the winter when it is less sunny and my skin is less oily. In general, I would highly recommend to everyone that you use SPF no matter what the season is. I used to not care much about SPF but now I realize the gravity of my mistake as the UV rays can have extremely harmful effects on your skin. Overall, this is a great product which not only offers sun protection but also helps you achieve a better complexion at the same time. When looking at the ingredients list, I saw niacinamide which is one of my favourite ingredient at the moment. It is great for brightening up your complexion and also helps with fading PIH.
