[REVIEW] Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

I've heard so many great reviews about this product from the Asian beauty/K-beauty world so I was super excited when I got my package in the mail. This is the first Innisfree product that I've ever owned and it definitely didn't disappoint.

The clay mask comes in a simple cardboard box. Inside the box, there is a small, plastic, brown jar. The design is very minimal, earthy and I'm all for this aesthetic. When you unscrew the lid, there is also another clear plastic lid inside which keeps the clay fresh and also prevents any contaminants from entering.

What It Does:

- Tightens pores

- Removes sebum/ oil

- Exfoliates dead skin cells

- Deep cleans

- Enhances skin tone

- Provides cooling effects

I use this product right after I come out of the shower because at this time, my pores are still open so the deep clean can be most effective. I then use my fingers to apply a generous layer of the clay over my skin. I apply a thicker layer over places that need a little more TLC (for example, the T-zone).

I leave the mask on for about 10 minutes. You will know when it's time to rinse because the clay will harden and your face will feel stiff. Afterwards, I take a bit of warm water and spread it on my face to soften up the clay. I then gently rub the clay in small circular motions to gently exfoliate the skin as there is little bits of volcanic rock in the mask. Next, I rinse off the mask with lukewarm water. Once all the product has washed off, I splash some cold water onto my face to close up my pores.

The cooling sensation is definitely noticeable when using this mask. On the Innisfree website, it says that the mask reduces your skin's temperature by 5°C. You feel it right away when you first apply it to your face and also when you are washing it off.

I use this mask 2-3 times a week. Right after I rinse off the mask, I instantly notice that my face feels softer and also my pores feel and look visibly cleaner (you know that fresh feeling after a good deep cleaning). After using this for about a month in conjunction with my COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, I do think that there is a difference in the appearance of my blackheads.

I would definitely recommend this product because it only takes 10-15 minutes out of your day and your skin will definitely thank you for it. Hands down one of my new holy grail products.
